Our Programmes
Meeting the need in front of us, without taking a family’s dignity in exchange.
Some needs cannot wait for a programme cycle. A household that cannot eat this week is in no position to plan for next year. MTAF distributes food and essential relief to families in hardship, and does so in a way that treats people as neighbours rather than cases. Where a family’s situation runs deeper than a single shortage, we connect them to our empowerment and health programmes, so that immediate relief becomes the first step rather than the whole of it.
Food insecurity is rarely the only pressure a household is under, and it makes every other pressure worse.
Regular distributions of staple food to households identified as being in need.
Rapid assistance when hardship arrives suddenly and a family has no reserves.
Essential household items and support for families under sustained pressure.
Additional provision during Ramadan and periods of particular need.
Beneficiaries apply, or a branch officer, imam or community member refers someone in need.
Support is matched to the actual situation rather than issued as a standard package.
Where possible we add training, tools or guidance so the support continues to pay off.
We stay in contact, review how the support is holding, and adjust where it is needed.
Outcomes we work towards with every household this programme reaches.
Regular food distributions ensuring no vulnerable family goes without.
Monthly care packages for orphans and widows.
Rapid response for families facing sudden hardship.
